Today, in Hazel Class we have been learning all about friction. Friction is a force between two surfaces that are sliding, or trying to slide across each other. Friction always works in the direction opposite to the direction in which the object is moving, or trying to move. Friction always slows a moving object down.

To investigate this we designed and made cars and tried to design them to have as little friction as possible on the surface the car was moving along.

Next week, we are going to complete our prototypes and test how far they travel down a ramp. The winners being the car with the least friction and travelling the furthest.

Stay tuned to see which groups car travels the furthest.
