It is a pleasure to welcome you to the Ellel St. John’s Church of England Primary School website. We hope it gives you a clear insight into our school’s organisation, values and ethos, and helps you to understand what life is like at Ellel, whether you are a current parent or child, or a prospective family exploring the right school for your child.
We invite you to watch our virtual open day video, which can be found on our Home Page, as it offers a valuable glimpse into daily life at Ellel St. John’s and the experiences we provide for our pupils.
At Ellel St. John’s, we believe that God is at the heart of everything we do, and this is reflected in our Mission Statement:
“Loving, living and learning in the light of Christ.”
We believe that every child is known, unique and special, made in the image of God. Our school family is a warm, welcoming community, and members of the wider village community are always made to feel very welcome. Through our strong Christian ethos and generous pastoral care, we help children develop into compassionate, confident, responsible and resilient individuals, ready to take their place in the wider world.
As Saint Matthew reminds us, “Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” At Ellel St. John’s, children flourish socially and emotionally within a stimulating and nurturing environment, with learning at the heart of all we do. We are committed to providing a high-quality education where every child is supported to achieve their full potential, and our academic standards are consistently very high. Each child is valued as an individual and given opportunities to grow, succeed and shine. We aim to develop the whole child and uphold high expectations in academic, sporting, cultural, social and behavioural aspects of school life. Our children make us proud every day.
We recognise the vital importance of a strong partnership between home and school and encourage parents to play an active role in their children’s education. Choosing the right school is one of the most significant decisions you will make as a parent, and we hope that our website provides all the information you need to support this choice. Should you require any further information, please do not hesitate to contact us — we would be very happy to help.
