The whole Worship Council works very closely with Mrs FitzGerald to discuss and plan the worship value for the next half term. We believe it is very important that the pupils have a voice in this so that we can take ownership of how we worship here at Ellel. We always try to choose a value or focus that is relevant to the things that are going on around us, either in our school, the local community, nationally or in the wider world.
Once we have chosen and planned the value or theme for the next half term, the Worship Council then plans and delivers one whole-school Worship per half term. We are so proud of the hard work and effort we put into making these worships fun, interactive, prayerful and relevant for our fellow pupils.

On 1st December, we led our Decoration Day worship. The whole school was dressed up in their Christmas outfits ready to spend the day crafting and making the school look beautiful and festive. To start with, we lit the first candle on our Advent wreath. As well as leading the school in some Christmas songs, we focused on Christmas around the world and held a question and answer session with anyone who has experienced Christmas in a different country – how interesting! We also had a flags quiz where the children identified flags from around the world and then we shared information about how Christmas is celebrated in those countries. We ended the worship with a time of reflective prayer, parying for our school, local community and the world this Advent.

On 22nd October 2025, we invited Rev Craig Abbott into school to watch the Worship we had planned especially to thank him for everything he does for us at school. We are all so grateful to Craig and will miss him so much when he moves onto his new role within the Diocese. Thank you Craig for shining your light and helping us all to shine too!

Thank you Rev Craig Worship 22.10.25

During our final Worship of the year, we introduced our new school prayer. This was written by us using ideas generated by every child in school. It reflects our values, mission statement and scripture and who we are as a school and how we love, live and learn together.
