Ellel St. John’s is an Aided Church of England School, provided by its Church Trustees, governed by its Governing Body (a majority of whose members are appointed by the Church and are Foundation Governors): and maintained by the Lancashire County Council.
The Headteacher, Deputy and Class teachers are responsible for the well-being of the children in the school. As part of the wider society, our school attempts to create a well ordered, self-disciplined environment; and Governors, teachers, Non-teaching staff, parents and children all contribute to the community life of the school. You will hear of team points being awarded for good and improving work, helpful and sensible attitudes, and other positive efforts. From time to time certificates, stickers and effort awards are given out at Celebration assemblies in recognition of the children’s achievements.
