Wow! What an amazing day that Oak Class had at the science festival. It was an action packed day from start to finish. To begin with we learnt about the four main parts of the brain and what they control. Then we visited the Hands on hospital and had a look at various equipment used to train the students – we even scrubbed up for an operation complete with gowns, hats, masks and gloves! After that we watched a show called Izzy’s incredible adventures and Ashlea even got to ride on a real hovercraft! Our final activity was exploring a a range of science stalls where you could pedal a bike to create power, eat a locust, go in a brain and make structures to name just a few of the experiences on offer! We arrived back at school enthused by our visit and surprised by how large UCLAN is.
