It is with great pleasure that the Promenade Concert Orchestra of Morecambe is inviting all year 5 and 6 primary school pupils in the Morecambe Primary School Cluster to enter a competition for the creation of a rectangular (A4) picture created around the theme of the Queens Platinum Jubilee. The winning picture would be used on all the PCOs poster and flier publicity for this concert, including social media and press releases.

Local artist, Chas Jacobs and others I have spoken to believe it to be a great opportunity for encouraging youngsters to recognise the achievement the Queen has made arriving at this amazing 70th year of her reign by creating their own expressions and feelings through art. The style is open, but some of the youngsters may like to use a local artists own style for their work.

The First Prize will include:

The printing of the poster-work on all publicity for the concert, free tickets for the winners immediate family and a double-album CD of the PCO, plus Social media and press coverage.

The Second Prize will include:

Free tickets for the winners immediate family and a double album CD of the PCO, and social media and press coverage.

The Third Prize will include:

Free tickets for the winners immediate family and a double album CD of the PCO and social media and press coverage.

All artwork should be brought to the Central Library, Morecambe, during opening hours, (times attached) for display during the week of April 19th with a deadline of April 21st, so that Chas Jacobs can do his adjudicating on Friday April 22nd, after which, the artwork will be left on display in the library for the duration of the Platinum Jubilee Celebrations.

Please name each artist, year and age, and school on labels for display on each exhibit.

Many thanks, in anticipation of a great event.

Yours sincerely, Howard Rogerson
