Hello everyone and welcome to the first homework for your children in year 4.
Spellings
This week your child has been given their spellings to practise. They are also available on Spelling Shed and we would encourage the use of both technology and good old fashioned writing to practise them. Putting them into sentences can really help embedded the spelling structure of words. They will be tested next Friday 17th.
Times Tables
This week we are starting with our 3 times tables. If you know your child is secure with these then still practise them but also they can practise any other tables they wish. If you know your child may struggle with these then please encourage them to practise lots ready for Tuesday 14th. The test does not put them in order so they really do need to be able to recall them.
Reading
It is really important that your child reads regularly and out loud too. even if they are fluent readers. A note needs to be written in their reading journals each time. If they finish their book they can read one from home until they are able to get another from school. Any finished books must be noted their reading journal too.
Starting next week your child will have another piece of homework in addition to the above.
Eco and School Councillors
This week we would like your child if they want to stand for either Eco or School council to produce a poster and a small speech about why they want the position and what they can bring to the role.
We will then hold an election in school for them to pitch at. The children will have a vote and whoever is elected will be announced to represent Willow Class.
Good luck.
Thank you all for your support.
Kind regards
Mrs Graham & Mrs Quinn
