Good morning Willow Class. I can’t believe it’s Friday again!

Well done for working so hard this week. I really hope you’ve enjoyed the David Walliams focus in English. Let’s get onto the last lesson…

English

LI – to write an ’emoji’ book review.

You have looked at some extracts this week from books by David Walliams. You might have already read some or all of his books.

Task 1. Discuss the following questions with someone at home or record your answers in your Home Learning Book:

Do you have a favourite? Why is it your favourite? If you haven’t read any before, which was your favourite extract from this week? Which one made you want to read more?

Task 2. Write a short ‘emoji’ review for three of David Walliams’ books, or for three of the extracts read this week. Choose some emojis to help with your review. You can find some emojis here:

https://emojipedia.org/people/

Check your writing for spelling and punctuation.

You could share the reviews with family members, your friends and remember to send them to me.

Maths

For maths today, I would like you to access the White Rose Friday Challenge using the following link to the BBC Home Learning Website:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/tags/z63tt39/year-4-and-p5-lessons

Remember that each challenge gets a bit more difficult so see how many you and your family can do together. Good luck!

Stilling Time

For Stilling Time today, I’d like you to have a go at the following Headspace Mini Mediatation which is designed to help you unwind – a good thing to do before the weekend after a hard week’s work. Before you start, I’d like you to ask yourself the following questions and think about the answers or discuss them with someone at home:

  • What have I done well this week that I am proud of?
  • What new concept or skill have I learnt this week?
  • What am I looking forward to this weekend?
  • What am I grateful for right now?

And now unwind with the meditation:

I’ve loved working with you all this week and I’ve been so impressed by the work that’s been sent to me – thank you for this!

Remember, you’re all (children and parents) doing an amazing job in really difficult circumstances. Thank you for all you’re doing and have a well-earned rest this weekend. See you on Monday!
