Good morning Oak Class! Here we are again with online learning; we’re getting really good at this – we’re becoming professionals! Mrs FitzGerald and I are wanting you to keep all your work and bring it with you when we are back in school. We would like to be able to stick all your work in your exercise books like we did back in October. We will have an online English lesson on Wednesday at 10am and on Friday; the timing for it is yet to be confirmed. We will also have a google meet at 10am on Thursday for Spelling Test and general catch up. All spellings are on spelling shed.

For the rest of this week I would like you to work through the Oak Academy unit on coordinates and shape, this is what we would have been covering if we had been in school. This unit will last for this week and next:  Click on the link and begin at lesson 1. On Wednesday use the link and click on lesson 2 this means that by Friday you will be on lesson 4.


Day 2

“He was secretly delighted at the possibility of being sold…” Re-read the Tin extract:

Task 1 – Collect phrases which suggest that Jack wants to be sold.

Task 2 – Think about and record in writing, responses to the following questions:

  1. In what ways does Jack try to secure his sale?
  2. Why do you think that Jack wanted to be sold?
  3. “Christopher tried to dampen the hot, sickening anger he felt.”
  4. Why was Christopher so unhappy about the sale?

Task 3 – Use a dictionary, thesaurus or  to define the word ‘humanely’. Then answer the two questions below:

  1. Which character behaves the most humanely in this chapter? Why?
  2. Which character behaves in the least humane way in this chapter? Why?

I am planning to have an online lesson with you all on Wednesday at 10am and Mrs FitzGerald is planning to have an online lesson with you on Friday; the timing for this is yet to be confirmed.


Our new topic is Animals including humans. If you can print out the work below and bring it in with you when you return to school that would be great, otherwise write your work on paper or in a book and bring in with you when we are back in school.

The first activity I would have asked you to do is to look at the sheet here:  Activity Sheet Systems in the Body Can you complete the table on the different functions. The answers are on the second page.

The next thing I would like you to do is to watch this clip:

Can you find out what the acronym Mrs Gren stands for and record it in your book or on paper.

The final activity that I would like you to do is to make a lift the flap diagram of your lungs. Read the instructions carefully! Circulation Diagram to cut out  You do not need to print page 1 as this is the instructions. Page 3 is a coloured version so you don’t need to print this page either, therefore only print page 2.
