English
LI – to write a magazine, newspaper or website article.
To begin with you are going to need to research and make notes on the jungle survival story of Juliane Koepcke, using the extract from Survivors by David Long here: Survivors_FINAL_opening_extract Note: Due to the sensitive nature of this story, it is advised that it is read and discussed with an adult.
Imagine you are a news reporter who has just heard the news that a young girl – Juliane Koepcke, has survived eleven days in the jungle.
Write an article, suitable for a children’s adventure magazine, online newspaper or website, about the amazing survival story of Juliane – make sure you include information from the story so that it is factually correct.
The opening paragraph to an article, written about Juliane, can be found here: https://www.theguardia n.com/lifeandstyle/201 9/apr/07/from-the- archive-1972-observer- the-girl-who-came-back-alive-from-amazon (Note: this is a news page, so will contain links to current news articles).
Remember to keep proof-reading your work to check for spelling and punctuation. I’m looking forward to seeing your newspaper or magazine articles!
PE
Like last week I am giving you a choice of three different activities. You can do a Joe Wicks PE lesson of your choice or Monday’s session. This is the link for Joe Wicks’ Monday session:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yOvqLXv88L4
Or you can do a yoga session for teens with Adrienne https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7kgZnJqzNaU
Or you can do a different type of PE called Circuit training which is similar to Joe Wicks but you can do this version if you fancy a change:
