Good morning Oak Class! Welcome to Tuesday’s online learning! I thought that I would share a picture of my eldest cat called Skye. She loves lying on blankets!

Don’t forget we are having a live English lesson this morning at 10:00am – set your alarm!

Our Live timetable for the rest of the week is:

Tuesday 10am – English

Wednesday 10am – English

Thursday 10am – Spellings

Friday 9am – Social and explanation of work planned

Maths

This week we are going to continue with the Oak Academy unit on coordinates and shape, this is what we would have been covering if we had been in school. This unit will last for the rest of this week: https://classroom.thenational.academy/units/coordinates-and-shape-4f3d  Click on the link and begin at lesson 6: LI – Coordinates and shapes: to recognise 3D shapes.

English

This is what we are covering in today’s live lesson.

LI – To use research to design a robot.

Using your research from yesterday, today you are going to have a go at creating your own imaginary robot!

When thinking about the robot you will design you should be keeping these questions to the forefront of your mind:

  • What would you like your robot to do?
  • What would its key function be?
  • What might it look like?

Draw a diagram with labels or create a fact file on your robot.  View this clip here for ideas

https://www.goodnet.org/articles/9-home-robots-that-make-your-life-much-easier

Try to use include some of the technical or more formal vocabulary you may have read above, or heard in the clips from yesterday. (e.g. futuristic, microscopic, series of actions, powered by, designed for, specific task, etc).

This afternoon you could even create a model of a robot using junk modelling as we will be completing more work to do with your robot tomorrow.

PE

Like last week you can do a Joe Wicks PE lesson of your choice or Monday’s session. The link for Monday’s session is below:
