Maths
Now if you didn’t quite finish yesterdays activities on Mathletics, make sure you do as you only have until 5pm today.
Here is today’s activity, I have also included a challenge at the end!
L.I. To compare numbers with the same number of decimal places up to 2 decimal places.
R.E. Our unit this term is ‘Are all churches the same?’
First of all we are going to look at different Christian places of worship. We will look at other places later in this topic.
Type ‘christian churches’ into google and click on images. This will bring up pictures of churches for you to look at. Browse through a couple to see what they are like, both internally and externally.
Then I would like you to answer the following questions into your books.
Question 1: What do you already know about the Church?
Question 2: What would you like to find out?
Question 3: Are all churches the same.
Now let us understand that the church is the people and not the building. If you can grab a stone and hold it. Now tell someone in your house the qualities of that stone. What does it look like and feel like.
Jesus said to Peter that he was the rock on which he would build his church (Matthew 16:18)
https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew+16%3A18&version=NIV
Did you know that Peter is the Greek word for ‘Rock’?
If a person was compared to to a rock then what qualities must that person have?
Question 4: In what ways was Peter a rock?
Question 5: How did Peter respond to this challenge?
Question 6: What did Peter do in order that Christ’s Church should be built?
Now I would like you to be detectives and look up in the Book of Acts the work of Peter and the Disciples after Pentecost. These can be found in (Acts 3, 4, 9:32 onwards, 10).
Keep up the super work everyone,
Love Mrs G. x
