Today, we had a whole school DT day. We all had different challenges to complete.
In Beech Class, we had to make a bridge for the Billy Goats to cross. It had to hold a toy goat and be 30cm long.
We started by looking at what makes a good bridge and different types of bridges. We decided that beam bridges would be the best for our task.
Mrs Quinn provided us with lots of different construction materials; Lego, MegaBlocks, Polydron as well as things like cups, lollipop sticks and card.
We worked with a partner to design our bridge and select our materials:
We then used our design plan to make our bridge with our selected materials:
We then tested our products and then evaluated them and thought about what we could do to make them even better if we did it again.
We had lots of fun and worked really well!
