Today, we have learnt about Tudor houses, with a focus on Little Moreton Tudor House in Cheshire. We’ve recorded our observations of typical Tudor buildings including the use of colour and materials. Then we revisited our learning about the Battle of Bosworth and the War of the Roses, focusing on the Tudor Rose. We sketched our own Tudor Roses, including the iconic white rose of York and the red rose of Lancaster.
In the afternoon, we explored clay and practiced clay techniques, before creating our own Tudor Roses in clay. We enjoyed listening to Tudor music, whilst creating. We found working with clay challenging but exciting and Miss Walton was very impressed with our perseverance.
