A big hello to everyone today!  You might be at school or you might be at home but wherever you are I’d love for you to have a go at today’s stilling time.

I would like you to put on your wellies or trainers, raincoat and grab an umbrella.  If you don’t have an umbrella then make sure your hood is up.  This activity is one to make you feel calm.

There is something about rain falling that helps to sooth and calm me down so I’d like you to give it a go too.  Stand outside while the rain is falling today.  Listen to the rain as it falls on to your umbrella, listen to how fast the rain drops pitter-patter down.  Watch carefully as the rain collects and drips off the edge of your umbrella back down onto the ground.  Watch carefully as to where the rain drops fall.

Now while you’re stood under your umbrella, listening and watching the raindrops, take some deep breaths.  Stand still, close your eyes and breathe in deeply.  Hold that breath for a few seconds before slowly releasing and then open your eyes.  Repeat this a few times and hopefully you will feel revived and calm.

I hope you give it a go.  Enjoy your day and don’t forget to send me your rainy pictures ?

Keep smiling,

Mrs O’Donnell
