This week, we have been writing poems on the theme of Spring.
After a springtime walk through the school grounds to gain inspiration, we spent time collecting and creating expanded noun phrases, similes and metaphors.
We drafted and edited our poems.
Here is an example of the fantastic writing we produced:
Spring is…
Blue-sky bluebells,
swaying softly in the gentle breeze.
Snowdrops silently whispering,
Under the shade of a tree.
Dazzling croci are every shade of purple,
On the lush green banks of a stream.
Golden daisies sparkle white
Whilst their middles dance in yellows.
Energetic birds circling in the sky,
Leaves play and dance behind.
And the sun is one burning bright bud,
Shining in the slender depths
of the light-blue sky.
