Today was the launch of our science week. We began the day with a whole school assembly from Dr Claire Hardaker where we were introduced to the forensic linguistics and how this can be used in criminal cases. Everyone found this a fascinating subject and were totally hooked into the notion of telling if someone is lying or not!

Then the whole school were split up into seven groups and spent the rest of the day in a carousel of activities making: hoop gliders in Acorn class; slime in Beech class; undertaking the spaghetti and marshmallow building challenge in Holly class; exploding volcanoes in Hazel class; watching sound waves in Willow class; bubble and colour transfer in Sycamore class to building marble runs from junk modelling in Oak class. It was exhausting, but lots of science vocabulary were used and our working scientifically skills were improved.
