Welcome to Tuesday!

Today’s picture is a view from my garden which I thought you might like to see. Team points to those that can name the mountain in view!

Day 2 – Tuesday

If you’re choosing to do the BBC work  – https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/tags/zncsscw/year-6-lessons/1

Find 28th April English for today’s lesson. Like yesterday there is a sheet to print off or copy from in your home learning books.

LI – To use commas and brackets

If you’re choosing the Wonder work then this is today’s session:

1) Imagine you are Auggie. How would you be feeling before your first day at school?

Write a short diary entry (no more than two paragraphs) for the night before you start school. Consider the following:

– your thoughts and feelings;

– your hopes for the day;

– your fears for the day.

2) Now watch the following clips from the film (PG certificate):

3)Then read the chapter ‘Choose Kind’ (pg 45 in the book) up to the chapter ‘September’ (pg 61 in the book).

4) Consider how Auggie’s first day actually went.

Write another diary entry as Auggie at the end of this first day (no more than two paragraphs)

Consider the following:

  • Write about the events of the day in chronological order (the order they happened throughout the day)
  • Add in your thoughts and feelings.
  • Hopes/fears for the next day.
  • Hopes/fears for friendships.

I’d like to look at your diary entries if you want to send them to me.

If you’re choosing the BBC work then today’s BBC Maths LI – To use short and long multiplication you can find it under April 28th

BBC website – https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/tags/zncsscw/year-6-lessons/1

If you have chosen to do the White Rose Hub extension work then click on the link below, watch the lesson introduction which gives you the teaching so that you are able to answer the questions on the activity sheet. Start at Lesson 2    LI – Ratio and Fractions

Stilling time

We’re still thinking about ‘connecting’, using the sense of touch is a great way to get a connection with someone. Why not try a shoulder massage to someone in your household, see if they will return the favour! How does it feel? What do you notice?

Keep going with the Joe Wicks PE. Or some similar exercise such as Fitness Marshall or other online exercises. The most important thing is that you get your blood pumping and get yourself out of breath!

Have a good morning’s learning!
