Today Oak Class visited the War memorial outside of Ellel St. John’s Church to take part in the two minute silence at 11am.

We had painted poppies on pebbles and we took it in turns to lay our poppy pebbles on the memorial. Next we then had some prayers that the children had written themselves. Then we took part in our act of remembrance with the bugle playing before the two minute silence.

After the silence we read out the names of all the people who had died.

It was a very moving experience.
