Today we are going to create a pirate wanted poster for the pirate Captain from the story Pirates Love underpants.
A wanted poster needs a description of the person so people know what to look for.
How can you describe him? Talk your ideas with your adult first.
What does he look like?
What is he wearing?
Here is the poster to have a go at. You can draw the pirate in your book if you cannot print and write his description underneath.
Don’t forget to add a reward at the end for how much gold someone would get if they find him.
Today we are looking at capacity which is a different type of measuring. Can you remember what it is?
Capacity looks at how much a container can hold.
Look at this from white Rose.
Week 1 Lesson 4 – Introduce capacity and volume
Then complete this:
Maths problem of the day
Have a go at this extra problem if you would like. Ask the children how do you know that? How did you work out that answer?
Or have a go at this practical challenge:
Spellings should be on Spelling Shed. This week’s words are…
no go so by my here
Some you may have had before but it’s good to recap these words as they are the words children need to be able to spell in year 1. Please try to practice them at home. You could do your own test next week if you like?
Please look at this for today’s phonics revision on aw which is another way we can make the au and or sound.
Then have a go at this:
Or write these words on small pieces of paper and hide them around the house. Ask your child to find them then put them in a sentence:
saw, paw, lawn, straw, draw, crawl, prawn.
Select the activity that best suits your child.
Don’t forget to play some games on phonicsplay.com selecting the sound we have looked at today using
password: home if you would like extras to do.
Well Being Activity
Have a go at the activity Mrs O’Donnell set yesterday if you did not complete that (it is on the Beech Class blog) or if you did have a go at this pirate dance:
If you would like an extra activity to do, pick an activity from your new learning grid.
Or try one of these activities:
Can you make a parrot for the Pirate Captain?
Don’t forget to have a go at Mr Garvey’s PE too.
