Hi Beech Class I hope you are all well. Thank you to everyone who has sent work this week. It has great to see what you have all been doing with your home learning!

Tomorrow (Friday 19th) we are having our next zoom. We will be playing some games this week and I thought we could do a bingo again. For this Bingo, please can you prepare a 3 x 2 grid (6 numbers, as we have done before) of multiples of  10 so 10,20,30,40,50,60,70,80,90 and 100. I will tell the children my number is 3 lots of 10 – 30 etc and they can cross of the numbers if they have it. I will help them to work out the answers and support them with this but feel free to help them as well. I am looking forward to seeing you then, Mrs Quinn x

English

Watch again, if required, The Highway Rat animation film:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b09kkt1k/the-highway-rat

Talk about why the Highway Rat is a baddie and a beast.

Create a ‘WANTED’ poster to help catch the Highway Rat. What does the rat look like so he can be caught?

Here is an example:

He is a baddie and a beast.

He wears a cape.

He has a black hat and he carries a sharp silver sword.

His manners are rough and rude.

His teeth are sharp and yellow.

Encourage use of the words from the text, such as: baddie, beast.

Challenge your child to include the word ‘and’ in their writing.

You can also draw a picture of the rat if you would like.

Check for capital letters, full stops and the use of ‘and.’

Re-read and check the writing together. Does it make sense?

Select how many sentences your child can do – 1 is fine if that is what is best. Have a look at the alternative English Blog if that is better for your child.

Use this template if you would like or just record your ideas in your books:
