Hi there!

Here is the video I posted yesterday for those of you who haven’t seen it. Please take a look.

https://youtu.be/NlmBBOGLtzM

Hope this explains Mrs Thomas’s comment on the blog about punching! 🙂

It took me a while to figure out how to put the video on the blog but with some help from Mrs Quinn and some much needed perseverance I managed it. I had to think about the Growth Mindset sentences we use in class  like: This might take some time and effort!

A big thank you to Mrs Quinn 🙂

In the video, I set you a task to make a Mayan Temple. This is a similar challenge to the ones I set you for Creative Homework like the one you did for our Amazon topic. So don’t worry –  you can take a few weeks to complete it.

READING

Here is another great resource you might want to use at home:

The National Literacy trust has produced a wonderful collection for children called The Book of Hope.

Completely free for all children and families, the extraordinary collection of short stories, poems, essays and pictures has contributions from more than 110 children’s writers and illustrators, including Lauren Child, Anthony Horowitz, Greg James and Chris Smith, Michael Morpurgo, Liz Pichon, Axel Scheffler, Francesca Simon, Jacqueline Wilson – and Katherine herself.

The collection, published by Bloomsbury, is dedicated to the doctors, nurses, carers, porters, cleaners and everyone currently working in hospitals.

P.E.

For this you could do Joe Wicks and / or Mr Garvey’s P.E.

Class Novel

I would like you to continue to listen to The Wind in the Willows. We are now up to Episode 5 so have a listen to that today. It is a really good book for introducing you to a wider choice of vocabulary.
