Wow – the end of the week already and the last day of Home Learning before the Easter Holidays!
Thank you so much for all the work you have been doing. A big thank you as well to all of you who have been sending in friendly and cheery messages and jokes to keep everyone smiling!
Even though we are apart we are all still part of our Sycamore Class family and our larger school family.
Here’s a wonderful list of suggestions for what you could do at home over Easter to spread joy and show you are thinking about others. I would love to hear about anything you decide to do to show people you care.
Today’s Home Learning: MATHS. ENGLISH, EASTER ART ACTIVITIES, P.E. STILLING TIME
MATHS
This is on MATHLETICS and will either come up as you login or it will be in the Explore section at the top of your screen.
If you have work set on the Explore section, remember to scroll down when you are on the activity to check you have completed all of the task. If you want to, you can type a message or question to me on the right hand side of the screen.
ENGLISH
I’ve attached a booklet full of English activities for you to use. You can choose one activity that you would like to do today and then use the rest of the booklet over the holidays if you would like to.

EASTER ART ACTIVITY
For this I would like you to decorate an egg. You can do this in any way you like. It would be great if you could send me photos of your finished eggs to put on the blog for everyone to admire! Click below for more details and examples;
Stilling Time
Mrs Nicks has sent in a special sheet with Stilling Time activities for you today, like the ones she has been doing in class with you. You don’t have to do them all today – you can use them over the Easter break.

P.E.
It would usually be P.E. with Mr Garvey today, so Joe Wickes is going to be your stand-in P.E. teacher. I know some of you are already doing this – well done! If you haven’t tried it before, just go to P.E. with Joe on YouTube. It is a live lesson at 9am but you can join in with it at anytime.

🙂
Hi. When I log on to mathletics there is an exclamation mark on the explore section and it won’t let me click.
No worries, I will take a look
🙂
Mrs Padfield
There should also be a prisms made of straw activity
🙂
I’ve checked and it is showing that it has been assigned so not sure why you can’t access it. It is the LOOKING AT FACES AND EDGES… task if that helps.
Try again later and let me know how you get on.:)
It’s working fine and completed now. Thanks. And Happy Easter.
Great work Sophie – Happy Easter to you too!

Eve’s just kindly explained what a fronted adverbial is. She then went onto explain what a modal verb was.
She was horrified that I’d never been taught these gems of linguistics.
Every day is an education.
And so the apprentice becomes the master – Great Job Eve!
🙂
Mrs Padfield
My mother doesn’t even know what a fronted adverbial or a modal verb is.
Her and I where both awake at midnight.
I think she’s having SMMBC ( SIB ) – Stands for Sleep making mum be crazy ( Sleep is bad ) Or LOSMMF Which stands for: Lack of sleep makes mum forgetful
I’m extremely confused because she has helped e with my Fronted adverbial and modal verb homework before.
I think I need words of encouragement for my mothers sanity.
Sincerely but not clearly- Eve
Sounds like you’ve already done a great job of teaching your Mum!
🙂
Philippa, snap!! Will see what Kaitlin teaches me. Just printed out work to take home for Kaitlin to do after work.
Thank goodness for google 🙂
Hope you all have a lovely Easter and Happy Friday 🙂
