Hi everyone, we have got to the end of our first week back! You have all done so well again this week. The work you have produced is great and I am so proud of you all.

Next weeks meet will be at 1pm on Thursday 4th. It is world Book Day that day so that will be the theme for the meet. Can you share your favourite book? Can you tell us what it is and why you like it? You could dress up as a book character if you like but there is no pressure to do this. Please do not buy a new costume just for this, sharing your book will be great but the option to dress up with something you already have at home is there if you would like. Children who are in school can come in dressed up if they would like.

Here is the learning for today:

ENGLISH

Watch this:

Use your comic strip of the next adventure Buzz will go on that you planned yesterday and write up your ideas.

MATHS

Have a go at these games:

Have a go at numbers to 20 first as teen numbers are always tricky with place value. I think that because we don’t say ten five for fifteen children struggle to remember these numbers have 1 ten. where as twenty two they can hear the twenty so know that is 2 tens. (I hope that makes sense).

Then select whatever option you want after that up to numbers to 99.

Then have a go at this number recognition game:

Select an option that is best for your child.

Then have a go at one of these mats to recap the maths we have covered:

Year 1 Autumn 2 Mat 5

Year 1 Autumn 2 Mat 6

Select the level that is best for your child.

Have a go at practicing number bonds to 10 if you want some more things to do.

Maybe you could play some relaxing music while you do it, we often use Disney piano music on YouTube!

RE

Today we are carrying on looking at how Jesus was  special. can you remember the stories we have looked at so far?

We have looked at

The Calling of the Disciples

Miraculous Catch of Fish

The Stilling of the Storm

Today we are looking at another story called:

Feeding of the Five Thousand

Do you know this story? What happens?

I wonder what the most important part of this story is?

I wonder what it would have felt like to have been there?

I wonder what would have happened if there had been nobody with a picnic to share?

Lots of these sotries we have looked at are miracles. Do you know what a miracle is?

Miracle is an amazing, event that goes  against nature. Some people say that a miracle is always an act brought about by God or another force such as an angel.

In Feeding of the Five Thousand the miracle that Jesus did helped lots of people and was a great act of kindness.

Can you complete some acts of kindness?

Here are some ideas:
