Over the course of the coming weeks I will be providing you with teaching ideas and activities. It is important to take it at your child’s pace and link it to their interests where possible.

I would encourage you to try to cover the following types of activities:

Phonics e.g. revision of Phase 2 and 3 sounds, blending for reading and segmenting for spelling, Phonics Play activities, Twinkl resources, Spelling Shed, YouTube Tricky Word Songs, CBeebies Alphablocks, Geraldine the Giraffe on YouTube (always popular with Acorn Class!)

Reading e.g. school and home books, Oxford Owl, Audible Stories, Collins Big Cat ebooks, Flyleaf Publishing

Fine Motor e.g. activities to strengthen those hand muscles for writing!

Writing e.g. real life writing opportunities

Active e.g. The Body Coach, Cosmic Yoga, Go Noodle, games in the garden

Maths (Our Maths planning outline is on our class webpage) e.g. practical maths activities and games, Mathletics, Top Marks, Number Blocks, Twinkl resources

Topic e.g. practical / creative activities, outdoors, Purple Mash activities, home routines

In reception, we learn so much through our play!

Remember, each child is unique and at different stages in their learning journey. Take their lead and soar!
