We had a lovely day today!
As it was the Year of the Rabbit, we made our own very cute 3D rabbits, with concertina bodies.
We had a visit from teachers from the Lancaster University Confucius Institute who taught us how to say ”hello’ and Happy New Year’. They also taught us about the symbolism of some Chinese food: spring rolls represent riches as they are like a bar of gold, shrimps represent happiness and noodles represent long life.
We found out that our class is made up of either horses or goats! Mrs Padfield is a monkey – no surprise there!
We also made ‘good Luck’ decorations out of red card, gold pens and ribbon. They were quite tricky but we were glad we made them as they looked very beautiful!
