Today, Oak Class went on a walk in the local area to track the changes in the river Conder. We first went to the river at Conder House, we could see the old mill race and the weirs that had been put in by humans in the past. We could also see the natural parts of the river such as a meander and deposition. Then we went to where the river goes under the A6, again we could see where humans have altered the river course to help avoid future flooding. Finally we went to Salford Road and looked at how the river had high stone walls to prevent flooding and direct the flow of the river. Here are some pictures of our visit.
