Today in school, children in every class took time to reflect on the past couple of years and discuss how the Coronavirus pandemic has impacted their own lives. Children were encouraged to share their own experiences with peers and then every class expressed their feelings and emotions from the pandemic creatively.

Acorn Class decorated rainbows whilst Mrs Tyson scribed their experiences on to the rainbows.

Beech Class also decorated rainbows in bright, glitter colours and used their creative area to design some brilliant pictures including ones with hands on.

Holly Class created elephants to represent our families who have been important to us all during these times. They drew and wrote things that represented the positive side of Covid on the light side of the elephant and on the dark side, they drew and wrote things that represented the sadness that came with Covid.

Hazel Class created collages to represent what the pandemic meant to them.

Willow Class expressed their feelings creatively through poetry and art.

Sycamore Class wrote about their experiences during the pandemic in mini time capsules.

Oak Class used customised face masks to symbolise their own experiences of Covid.

We were so impressed with the creativity shown by every child across school. Well done Ellel!

School Councillors chose 3 winners from each class. 1st place for each class has been put into our own school time capsule that will be buried on Monday morning.

2nd and 3rd place winners from each class will be submitted for a national competition, which is running until the end of summer. Fingers crossed that one of our children’s pieces is selected to give them the opportunity to have their piece put into a national time capsule.

Thanks to all the staff who have supported the children with these wonderful, creative activities today.
