Today, as our contribution towards the school time capsule we had the opportunity to learn and practice running stitch. We were busy all day sewing two pieces of felt together to create an elephant. We then stuffed the elephants and finished our stitching. Finally, we used felt tips to draw on the felt. We expressed the positive things to come out of the pandemic on the light side of our elephants and on the dark side we drew and wrote about the negative impact the pandemic had on our lives.
The children were determined to complete their elephants and school councillors chose Eva’s elephant as our first place winner. A picture of her elephant will be added to the school time capsule. Alexandra and Ailsa came in 2nd and 3rd place, so both children’s elephants will be submitted into a national competition to win the chance of having their entry added to a national time capsule.
What a lovely day we had!
