We have been developing our reasoning skills in collaborative groups.
We were given a problem and had to prove which answers could not be correct and why the correct answer was correct.
We worked in groups of four and each person had a role:
- Includer- this role had to ensure everyone had a chance to contribute their ideas / suggestions.
- Resourcer – this role was responsible for collecting any resources needed to support any of the group with the task
- Organiser – this role was responsible for keeping the group together and working as a team
- Understander – this role ensured that everyone in the group understood all the answers and explanations
The different roles worked really well and ensured that everyone was actively learning and contributing. It also gave us the opportunity to practise and extend our use of mathematical vocabulary.
