Beech class have had such a fantastic start to the year. They have settled into class really well and have all been making really good progress in the work we have been doing in class. All their hard work has definitely earned them a nice rest over the half term!

Beech class will be receiving homework on Fridays that is due back the following week (by Friday). There will be a variety of homework given including English, Maths and Creative Homework. This will be in addition to weekly spellings and reading they are getting.

Here are the challenges for half term:

Build a Better World:

In class, we talked about our hopes for the future. We  looked a picture of a beach littered with rubbish – including lots of plastic – and talked about ways we could make a difference.

We are asking children in KS1 to think about this some more and come up with a response. It could be:

  • A picture of the world as they would like to see it
  • A poster to help people stop littering / dropping waste
  • A photograph of something beautiful in nature that we need preserve

You can be as creative as you like!

All the work produced will go on display in school. Some of the posters will also go up around school as a reminder.

Get creative and I look forward to your responses!

Signs of Autumn

As a part of our science work, we have looked at seasonal changes and signs of Autumn.

As you are out and about, can you spot any of the seasonal changes that happen in Autumn?

Here are some ideas to help:

If you have any questions regarding this, please do email me and I will be happy to help.

Thank you for your continuing support and have a great half term,

Mrs Quinn
